Not All is Cancelled: Guide to Virtual Fitness, Fun, and Financial Success

As this crisis began, we faced decisions that everyone else around the world was going through – canceling social events, closing community gathering spaces and more. At GL&L Holdings, LLC we encourage joy and vibrancy for every one of clients and friends through events and ways to allow people a sense of togetherness through different lifestyle programs.

That job is becoming more important than ever, especially with the social isolation that is occurring.  People need to stay mentally and physically healthy during this time of stress – but how can we make that happen?

Luckily, events and community gatherings have quickly begun going virtual.  Here are a few ways to take part in multiple events.

    Virtual Learning:

Why not use some of your extra time to learn a new skill, brush up on career development skills, or learn about something in which you have always had interest but just couldn’t find the time?

    • Some ideas are a Virtual Succulent Garden Class with a local florist and Painting Classes with your neighborhood art studio. Utilize platforms like Zoom to bring the teacher to your community, virtually. Go to www.gllholdings.com and view some videos and articles on real estate investing and how to gain funds to become a successful real estate investor.
    • Coursera.org is offering free classes from Ivy League classes to art classes. “The Science of Wellbeing,” Yale’s most popular class, is one of the many offerings. You may search through Coursera’s free courses here.
    • Rosetta Stone is offering 3 months of free language courses for students. Please click here:
    • Fender has 3 months of virtual guitar lessons via their website.
    • Random House is providing chats with your favorite authors, classes on writing, and social hours for people who like to read.

    Virtual Fitness Classes:

With city gyms and fitness centers closed, we have to get creative with our fitness routines. Staying active is so important during times of stress, and even will boost your immunity. Here are some resources for staying active at home.

    • To get moving you may watch and join in The Wellness Coalition Group on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thewellnesscoalition/ or try these stretching routines – The Wellness Coalition Stretching Routines
    • YMCA 360: You can take group exercise classes for all ages right in your own home at no charge for a limited time with YMCA 360. There are also sports classes and more for kids. Please click here for details: https://ymca360.org/

    Just Plain Fun:

Positivity goes a lot farther than negativity in any situation. Here are a few ways to bring a little bit of fun and magic into your daily life.

    • Disney Parks Blog is offering free backgrounds for your next Virtual Meeting. Add some digital magic to your next video conference with backgrounds that make it look like you are at Disney.
    • Take a virtual trip. Many museums and cultural institutions around the world are offering free virtual tours. The Monterey Bay Aquarium has ten live streaming videos of their exhibits, so you can experience the wonder of the ocean no matter where you live.

In this unprecedented time, it is more important than ever to bring people together for a common purpose. We are stronger together, and being a part of a caring, supportive community is what makes life beautiful. Whether it is yoga, drawing, or an online house party while virtually chatting with your neighbors – everything counts in the bigger picture of creating a sense of wellbeing and connection during a time of what could be social isolation and fear.
